Annual Dinner & Election of Officers, January 24, 2009
by jerri Wiley The Annual Dinner “Meeting” will be held at the Laurel View Country Club in Hamden. You don’t want to miss this event! It is loaded with doorprizes, a guest speaker, you’ll meet your new Board of Directors (and the outgoing Board), and did I mention the food? Send your check out so that it arrives by January 14. Please note on your check if you are choosing chicken, fish, or beef. Please include your email address so that I can confirm with you that I have received your check. Roger Chartier is again in charge of acquiring the door prizes. He has been doing this for several years and has had success with obtaining prizes from area businesses, including our local BMW car dealers. Your chapter also supplies some very nice prizes. However, you MUST be a club member to be in the door prize pool. If you have a significant other that will join you at the meeting and is not yet an associate member, it would be a good idea to call the national office and make the addition to your membership for the small additional dues amount they charge. We do check the membership list before putting your name “in the hat”, so do it now so that the new name is added to the list (the membership list comes to us directly from the National office). The charge for your dinner will be $30.00 per person. This includes hors D’oeuvres, salad, dessert, coffee, tea, soda, tax, tip, the main course, those great door prizes, and of course the speaker (the Board is currently working to obtain a speaker. When we know who it will be, it will be posted on the chapter’s website). Please choose one of the following main courses: Chicken Florentine, Filet of Sole Francese, or London Broil with mushroom sauce. Take Route 40 Connector to the end. Bear left at fork. Take a left onto Whitney Avenue. Follow approximately 1.2 miles. Take a right onto School Street. Follow through 2 traffic lights and take a right onto Shepard Avenue. At the next light, take a left onto West Shepard. Country Club is a half mile on the left. |
